The BYD SEAL is a finalist for the European Car of the Year 2024 award, which will be announced at the Geneva Motor Show on February 26, 2024. This all-new sports sedan from BYD is competing among seven final contenders after being selected by a jury of 59 automotive journalists. BYD is making a strong impression in the competition, with four of its models, including the SEAL, DOLPHIN, ATTO 3, and HAN, among the 28 cars initially considered for the award.

The selection process for the finalists involved evaluating factors such as value for money, design, comfort, safety, technology, and environmental performance. The BYD SEAL will face off against models from BMW, Kia, Peugeot, Renault, Toyota, and Volvo. Jurors will distribute 25 points among at least five models, with no more than ten points going to any single car. The nomination of the BYD SEAL is notable, especially since BYD has only recently entered the European market, starting sales activities in 2022.
