TITAN Freight Systems, an overnight Less-Than-Truckload carrier in the Northwest, has partnered with Daimler Truck North America to promote sustainable transportation in Oregon. TITAN has added three battery electric Freightliner eCascadia Class 8 trucks to their fleet and plans to introduce three Freightliner eM2 medium-duty electric box trucks by the end of the year. These vehicles will replace diesel trucks, contributing to a cleaner environment, and are supported by six Detroit® eFill commercial charging stations at TITAN’s depot.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation, which recently received a $2 million SMART Grant, will benefit from TITAN’s electric trucks in piloting a Zero-Emission Delivery Zone in downtown Portland. This initiative aligns with TITAN’s goal of becoming carbon neutral. TITAN’s transition to electric vehicles, including the infrastructure, has been supported by various grants and partnerships, including an Oregon Department of Environmental Quality grant, technical assistance from Portland General Electric, and financing from KeyBank.
Daimler Truck North America has been a leader in electric truck development since 2018 and supports customers with its Electric Mobility Group and Detroit eConsultants. The company also provides integrated charging solutions with its Detroit CMS and eFill Chargers. The collaboration between TITAN and DTNA demonstrates their commitment to a sustainable future for transportation in Oregon.
TITAN, headquartered in Portland, switched to 100% renewable diesel in 2019 and now operates the first 100% electric heavy-duty vehicles in Oregon. Daimler Truck North America, also based in Portland, is a major commercial vehicle manufacturer and a subsidiary of Daimler Truck Holding AG.
